We had so much fun this year!!! This was the first time that we decided to host a Christmas Pajama Brunch for the family. Best decision ever!! A new tradition has been birthed for our family.
As you can see we had lots to indulge in during this time of good old family time.
Just to make it clear we were all vaccinated, boosted, tested and have remained in the same bubble...FOREVER!!!
When we were planning I didn't think the family would be receptive to the "Pajamas" thing...boy was I wrong. Many came ready to party for the day in their Christmas themed pajama set. To make matters even funnier, who would have thought it would be so difficult to find Christmas themed pajama sets. Apparently in The Bahamas this is becoming very popular and yes the hostess couldn't find jammies in her size in time. Luckily I did have a red one!!!!
When we started swinging those pots my good decent HUSBAND was responsible for "Omelets as you wish" and I handled the Pina Colada and Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Lobster Egg Benedict.
We decided that we were going to take the day in strides and allow you to eat ALL day long....LONG and SLOW was our motto. This was a NO Rush Day.
Our Lobster Egg Benedict served on toasted brioche was a hit. The poached eggs could not cook fast enough. I must give credit to Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman for her Hollandaise Sauce recipe. I have used this recipe on several occasions as it is easy and I can say anyone will be successful using this recipe.
To add to the abundance of varied flavours is our need as Bahamians to have our "GRITS"!!! Our Christmas Brunch grits was milled on Ragged Island. Ragged Island is located in Southern Bahamas with a very small population of boat builders and fisherman. Ragged Island is the perfect place to enjoy beach front living with only a few neighbours. Our Ragged Island grits was served with none other than some awesome Louisiana Style Shrimp (www.premiumfoodsbahamas.com) Some JUICY, JUICY Shrimp...
I love the holidays!! It is not just about the food, but all about the stress, fun, family filled activities that many of us enjoy during this time of year. Believe it or not we all seem to be happier and send stress out the window. We laugh a lot and remember those that we miss because they are far away or have gone beyond the veil. I am grateful for my many blessings and my family. Family is everything!!!!
Eating that extensive menu was no easy task and we had to exercise some of that food off so that it does not rest on our behinds. The day was filled with games like Heads, family photo sessions, singing Christmas Carols, Tik Tok videos and gingerbread decorating competitions. I must give a shout out to McJos Cookies and Treats. Great customer service and fantastic product. If you ever need Gingerbread decorating kits please see contact:http://linktr.ee/McJosCookieTreats

We really had lots of laughs putting together and decorating our gingerbread houses. This is a definite new tradition. The reigning Champions have to get ready for next year, I am sure the completion will be fierce!! We look forward to next year creating more memories with families and friends.
